So lets say you're a student or a business person on a budget of USD250 and you just need a decent laptop for your work or even light gaming. A MacBook Unibody?

In this series of Shai Sketchi Tips, I will show you how to eliminate the fear of deadly viruses by wiping and reinstalling the OS, upgrading several things in your MacBook and finally, a few tips on how to getting the maximum power performance and would recommend you which MacBooks to get.

Episode 1 : Upgrade the RAM in your MacBook! MacBook Unibody 2010

    Episode 2 : Windows 7 on a 32 bit MacBook?

Episode 3 : My thoughts and opinions about Mac and PC?
    [Early November release]

Episode 4 : Minecraft Gaming Performance!
    [Mid November release]

    Episode 5 : Reinstalling OS X onto a MacBook?
    [Mid November release]

    Episode 6 : Benchmarking?
    [Late November release]

Episode 7 : Tips and Tricks on Extending Battery Life!
[Late November to Early December release]

All of my videos will be recorded on my iSAW Edge Action Camera in 1080p30 or my iPhone 4 in 720p30 so the image will be curved. I love recording on these types of cameras. <3

    ^^

Honestly, I've never really trusted macbooks. My Windows 10 computer has never been better, running smoothly and works when I want it to. Just the battery that needs fixing, it dies instantly when I plug out the charger, so you could call it a light PC. xP

Or I could perhaps just take out my battery, plug the charger in without the battery, go to device managers, reinstall one of the drivers in the battery section, turn off the computer, put back in the battery, turn it back on and see if it charges.

Your laptop battery could not be functioning for a few reasons.

    1. Microcontroller Circuit is fried / damaged.
    2. Li-ion Batteries have a lifespan, estimated 500 FULL cycles max. Age also matters.
    3. Defective cells in the battery pack.

I don't think my laptop's battery is meant to die after 2-3 years, especially when I don't use it too much each day

Do you keep your charger connected even when you have the battery in? If yes, you are basically frying your battery. Happened to my very old laptop.

Well now I have to, but back then when that problem wasn't in existence, I had this program that I downloaded that was like battery doctor, and let me know if it was fully charged or not. But, because it was the family laptop back then, I don't think anyone in the family listened.

Let's say on a USD250 Budget. You can go onto eBay and look for MacBooks.

Yeah I would totally spend my $250 on a 6 year old computer which specs are way lower than anything you can get nowadays for the same price. Oh you will most likely also get no software updates on that. Don't really see why anyone would want to do this.

Well, quite true. But who wants to spend a lot on a brand new MacBook that has only 1 port for everything? Students like me don't really need a high end machine for gaming like an i7 / Xeon Processor + GTX.

Well, everyone has different opinions. Whether you decide to get a PC or a Mac system is really up to you.

Software updates, please check my first episode as you can see I've already installed El Capitan in that MacBook. I could have upgraded from El Capitan to macOS Sierra though it's compatible but I would love to say that it will likely slow the system down due to its introduction to Siri and many other UI.

Hope that a debate doesn't start here again cause I already had one :)

In this video, I show the steps of installing Windows 7 32 bit on a customer's MacBook that I've been servicing for a few days.

I am currently in the midst of recording and scripting the next episode of Shai Sketchi Tips which I would explain the differences of the PC and the Mac and my opinions on them. Minecraft videos will be uploaded this coming weekend, I hope!

Well, my exams are over and I received very impressive results especially Design and Technology. I'm taking that course for next year so I quite happy about it. I will see you all in a couple of days!
